What are the requirements to participate in your programs?
Have a valid driver license, a car that is in safe operating condition and a willingness to have a fun day learning at the Ridge Motorsports Park. We will allow new drivers with a permit to participate in the Ridge Racing School Driving Experience. In fact we strongly encourage it.
What kind of car can I use in the Ridge Racing School Driving Experience?
Any car that is good running condition and that has been well maintained. We suggest that you use your daily driver, as most of the skills you will build will help you be a better driver in that car on the streets everyday.
What happens if it rains?
We drive rain or shine. It actually enhances your learning experience if it rains. Driving in the rain limits the level of grip, and requires you to be an extra smooth driver!
What should I wear?
Be sure to dress appropriately for the local weather in Shelton. For driving you always want to have comfortable clothes and shoes that allow you to easily operate your car.
What about helmets?
All students are required to wear an auto racing SA 2005 or newer helmet on the track and in the Hot Pits at all times – no exceptions. Either closed face or open face helmets are acceptable. Use of a school helmet is included for new students in “The Ridge Racing School Driving Experience program. For “High Performance Driving Day” students we highly encourage you to own your own helmet. We do have a limited number that we can rent for each event as well.
Can I drive my convertible at the track?
That really depends on the make, model and year of your car and/or how it is prepared. For newer cars that have featured “Rollover Protection” the answer is usually “yes”. Contact us to be sure. For older cars you must have a roll bar that meets SCCA/ICSCC/NASA/SOVREN standards. To be sure you car qualifies please contact us to discuss your vehicle. If your race car has a current logbook no problem.
Do you offer military discounts?
We support our active military by providing a 10% discount on the cost of the Ridge Driving Experience and for high performance driving days.

What is your cancellation policy?
We require payment in full at time of registration but you can cancel (or reschedule) 14 days in advance of the event.
